Don’t get me wrong. I deeply appreciate all the support I’ve gotten lately (even, especially, the kind words). We’re still coping with the loss of my step-dad. He passed away a thousand years too soon.
I do hate to have to rattle the ol’ tip jar, especially in light of several generous donations, but ad revenue the last several months has been pretty dismal. Even missing only a few updates here and there tends to do that. I’m faced with not having enough to get by.

I’m so sorry to hear that AndyO!. I sincerely hope others will be able to come through for you, ’cause I can’t right now. What I *can* do is mention (again?) that you are a truly gifted storyteller—up there with the best. [I've been hanging out in the science fiction fan community for some 50 years now, so I've been able to closely observe the work of quite a number of gifted storytellers. (Which is an attempt to give some weight to my considered opinion of your abilities.)]
Your mastery appears to be not only from your understanding of both human and narrative dynamics and tension, but also from what appears to be a heart of gold.
May HaShem turn His face to you with good.
Realized today that I had ad block running on this site. Many apologies. Hope my donation make up for some blocked ads.
Yeah, me too on the ad block. Sorry about that, I have turned it off for your site… I sometimes forget that ads are the only thing helping to keep good comics where they are. I will donate if I can, though it won’t be much sadly. I believe in supporting those who give so generously to keep us entertained without asking much in return.
If you are having monetary trouble, you might think about doing a fundraiser on Indegogo.com. It’s a crowd funding site that helps people raise money for any cause small or large. I’ve got a fundraiser going on there myself in an effort to raise enough money to start an organic goat farm. It’s not doing too well, but meh… that’s life.
I’ve seen one fully funded fundraiser that was just asking for enough support to help a man pay his bills while he tried to get back on his feet after an injury and there are a lot of memorial funds on there trying to raise money to help people pay for funerary expenses.
At the very least it’s worth checking out and it’s incredibly easy to use. You only pay between 4 and 9% of what you bring in and that’s only after your fundraiser is completed so you don’t have to pay anything till you actually have the money to pay for it and it’s not really that much.
I hope that things work out for you and your family and that you are hanging in there, it’s never easy to lose a loved one… I’ve lost quite a few over the years and it never seems to get any easier but you have friends, family, and plenty of fans to turn to for support.
I managed to scrounge up $10 to toss your way, hope it helps at least a little.
D’OH! A technical issue on another Webcomic’s page just reminded me that I have ABP running. My main reason for using it isn’t that I don’t like ads, it’s that there are numerous sites that are set up so that the ads load before the actual content. So if one ad server is malfunctioning/down/lagging, the pages will get stuck trying to load the ad and will fail to load their actual content. I started running into that situation so often that I installed ABP out of frustration.
That said, I’m in the process of disabling the ABP addon for all of my favorite webcomic pages. I’d completely forgotten I was even using it.
Andy, I wish I could send you some funds, but I’m pretty strapped myself. I’m a cook working for the local convention center, and in this economy people just aren’t holding/attending conventions like they were a few years ago. I don’t work a regular schedule, I work when there are events, so fewer conventions = less work. This is why I’m keeping my eyes open for something different.
I just found you on flattr and added you to my subscriptions. Maybe others will do the same (I think there is a minimum ammount you need to collect until you can withdraw money from flattr).
I blame the people abusing the web ad systems to spread either malicious links or just inappropiate adverts, and they don’t really care about the harm they are doing to the ecosystem or those who rely on the ad revenue to keep their sites up. They are after the fast buck, and they aren’t around to stay. And that shows in the way they pollute everything they touch.
That said, shoving some money your way now that I had a payday again.
I can’t do anything right now, but I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this comic over the last couple of years. I will definitely give you some cash when I have it. You’ve earned it.
Yegads this is depressing. So many of us who are not flush. Okay, I scraped together a couple of bucks & sent them along. Sorry it’s not more.
