This was posted when I learned that James Dohan had passed away.

James Doohan is the only Star Trek cast member I ever met. By met, I mean signing autographs at a convention in Seattle. Now at the time I was crazy about a game called Star Fleet Battles (for the record, I still have the stuff for it, but the box hasn’t been opened in years). I asked him if he’d ever heard of it. He looked at me and said, “Why?”.

That’s when it struck me. He was a actor and someone with his own life. He didn’t think of Star Trek every moment, and I realized that I shouldn’t either. I didn’t have an answer for him just then.

I’ve remained a big Science Fiction fan, but it’s not my life. Maybe that’s the answer.

I was working when the Superbowl was on and I really wasn’t interested, but I started seeing accusations of bias bye the referees on the Internet before the game was even over.

I forget the name of the comic, but it said something about “worst word balloon placement ever.”   That’s where I got the idea for this.

I do like braunschweiger and cream cheese on sourdough english muffins.  Haven’t tried ‘em with kimchi yet.
