Jaz: Pharmacists make mistakes sometimes. Maybe it's Metoprolol you're supposed to be taking. That's a common treatment for hypertension. It's usually a small, pinkish, round pill. But 4 of those a day is also a lot.
Aoi: It's always been the white oval pills. I've been seeing the same doctor since I was a child. I can't imagine him making any kind of mistake. Or think of anyone I'd trust more. Maybe these just look very similar to your Metformin.
Jaz: As a nurse, one of the things they teach us is to memorize the appearance of the medications our patients are taking. I've caught a few errors that way. This is definitely Metformin.
Jaz: This sure explains your hypoglycemia. I think you need to talk to another doctor before you take any more of these. It's probably causing you all kinds of gastrointestinal problems and lactic acidosis. And I take extra B12, since I don't absorb it very well after having taken this for a while. If it's OK with you, I'm going to call DR Lane and see what she thinks. She's probably every bit as sharp as Ace when it comes to medicine. She'll know what to do.
Aoi: If that's so, then I'll want her to see me right away. I'll pay extra if necessary.
Aoi: Let's keep this to ourselves for now. I don't want to add to everyone's worries about me. Especially for Barbi.
