An old house, a geek, a cute transvestite, a very tall lesbian, and at least one ghost–what could happen? – Adult situations and artistic nudity. Not suitable for children.
Low light. Off world spectrums (possibly under a red star), also consider effectiveness of different colors when dealing with races that see higher or lower into the light spectrum than humans. Recall Stormy’s comment about Orions seeing magenta as grey. I’m of course guessing at all this, Andy may have completely different reasons for the color system.
Ever seen Navy camouflage? Not only the blue BDU that has camo so that oil and paint stains won’t show up, but also the ship camo. Jagged designs break up the lines of the ship and make it look not ship like. I’ve seen it in pink and orange, which led me to think the camo was “That can’t be a ship, I must be drunk!” Not that camouflage is used on ships any more, since visual isn’t a targeting system these days.
I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the cruise missle used a visual camera for terrain tracking. At least that’s how they portray it in the movies (I know, I know, artistic license, just because they show it, it doesn’t make it true).
And just for the record I have seen a purple camo in an army surplus/supply (well, Marine Corp mostly, but it had stuff for every branch back then.) I wish it was still there, I want to replace my combat boots and the best shot at ones that fit me is the military. Besides, it’s a store in which I’m comfortable and since I can’t go on base any more there are a limited number of options for that..
I have to wonder what sort of environment “lavender camo” would hide you in. >.>
