Sharron: I'm going to have to make a habit of coming here straight from duty on Friday nights, aren't I?
Aoi: Well, we do love to have you over. I could promise you that it won't happen again.
Sharron: This house? Good luck. Anyway, I came by to handle another noise complaint and soak away the aches of another long shift. The occasional midnight yard streaking is nothing. The city's indecent exposure law is so vague that most of us go out of our way to avoid making an arrest. This isn't Portland, but what you do in your backyard is your own business. But do it during daylight hours in view of the road, and I will bust your asses anyway.
Luna: No danger of that. We're bold, not stupid. But about the noise; we've been keeping the music volume down. How are we making that much noise?
Sharron: You aren't. The complaints are bushwah. In this environment, pool buildings are pretty well insulated. This one even better than most. And the houses out here are well separated. You'd damage your hearing before it would be loud enough to actually disturb anyone. No, someone's being a jerk. The calls come in right at 10 when you're having several people out here. They're using a prepaid cell phone, so we don't know exactly who it is. Frankly, we're getting fed up with it. Most of the time we just roll a patrol car by, but I'd like to join you early next Friday evening. I'll come over in plain clothes and the caller will be put through to my phone. I'll read whoever it is the riot act, and if it happens again, well get a warrant to get location information for the phone.
Luna: Don't you need special arrangements to do anything in plain clothes?
Sharron: As a uniformed officer, yes. But that won't be a problem next week.
Luna: Why's that?
Sharron: Because, starting next week you can address me as Detective Friendly.
