I finally figured out that the plugin for comment up/down voting was what was causing every comment to go to moderation. I’ll look into something else.

Allow me to once again recommend Disqus. I’m sure you’re aware of all the benefits it has, and I’m also sure we wouldn’t mind a few ads to keep it free.
No, not Disquis, this comment program is good enough (and doesn’t require having to make an account just to make comments, or for the author to remember to allow guest posts)
I never had to make an account for Disqus (unlike here), I just had to sign in with my google+ account. And Disqus allows for better tracking of conversations without having to receive e-mail notifications.
Not all who use Disquis have it set up for guest posts
And don’t have an account here either
The only time I object to ads is when the do the trap redirect of the website, or block the view of the comic. The first is annoying and inconvenient, the other is just unacceptably rude on the part of the advertiser.
