An old house, a geek, a cute transvestite, a very tall lesbian, and at least one ghost–what could happen? – Adult situations and artistic nudity. Not suitable for children.
This is one of the clearest explanations of the difference between a transexual and a transvestite that I’ve ever heard. Not that the tail end part is true for all transvestites, but that they don’t want to be women, just dress like one.
Most of these terms have changed or at least been more clearly defined over the lifespan of this comic.
The most recent and modern terms have not always been in the common vernacular, even just 14 years ago.
These days, the word “transvestite” is treated like the N-word for black people by some.
Very accurate from what I know. Another word to avoid today is trannie. Using that term is currently apt to have a person point out that they are not a part of a car.
Unfortunately, the terminology for the community is in a bit of flux and if you end up getting a sharp reply just apologize and ask what terms they would use. I found a very good article in The Pink News from back in March of 2018. I’m not sure if I can post a link here but I’ll give it a shot. Fair warning, I don’t claim to be an expert about this topic and I can only speak definitively for myself, but I’m willing to answer polite questions on this topic to anyone curious.

He needs to know about Steve Lewis, protagonist of the webcomic “Magical Transvestite Cherry”
When Steve was assigned to the School of Marketable Magic at the Faerie dojo {in the “Footloose” webcomic} all the magical girls assumed he was gay.
He had a brief discussion with his shoulder angel and devil and did not contradict that assumption.
It’s transsexual or transgenderwomen who transition to be women !Not trans men ! Trans men are People assigned female at birth and want to men0
