No sweetie, you are a work in progress. There is a difference. A piece of work is usually willing to remain that way as long as no additional effort is required. A work in progress is trying to improve.

Thank you. I’ve encountered a lot of works in progress, including when I look in a mirror. Sadly I’ve also encountered far too many pieces of work. Fortunately for me, I was able to walk away from the later, but not without picking up a scar or two on my psyche.
“Pieces” often have jagged edges, don’t they.
