As someone who’s had my ribs cracked, I’m always amazed Ace isn’t howling when Pixie grabs him like that.
I don’t know about Ace, but I have a combination of high pain tolerance and a tendency to go none verbal when in pain. It takes something pretty serious to make me howl. A needle injecting fluid between my ribs have me losing any semblance of civilization, although I did manage to not deck the doctor doing the injection. Even out of my mind, I know better than to piss off the people with sharp objects whom put me back together.
