Hey Andy, I hope things are getting better for you. So I noticed an error in this strip. Ace i saying he’s going to feel that beating in the “mouthing,” not morning. Get better soon, ok. We miss you.
One thing not commonly discussed about martial arts is that you are taught to control the force of your blows. Opponents can thus fight without injuring each other. Not really a matter of holding back as it is where you direct the force of your blow.
More than just that.
You recall Grand Leader talking about how she’s in her own, familiar environment, vis-a-vis lower gravity? She knows how to move, shift weight, balance and such, and how to throw a punch without knocking herself off her own feet?
Ace had never had to do that before, so earlier, when he was throwing light punches and doing no real damage, that was PRACTICE. THIS, is application of what he learned from the practice!

No, I don’t think so. Those two sentences are separate (and right now while his face is bleeding would probably be the time when the kiss would hurt most).
However, Andy having the pending kiss joke in his head may have contributed to the “mouthing” typo when he wrote it.
