That’s ’cause “you can’t see the back of your own eye”
An American POW in Vietnam was being used for slave labor. He pretended not to understand his captor’s orders, and slacked off whenever he could. When his captors called him stupid and lazy he realized that’s what white slaveowners said about black slaves, probably for the same reasons. So basically the reason white supremeses think they are better than blacks is because as slaves they tried to get out of forced labor (which if you think about it is pretty smart)
That is one weird expression. There’s lots of places we can’t normally see without some kind of tool to aid us. I wonder why “Back of your own eye” got picked.
Even if you plucked it out, the back of the eyeball is mostly covered in nerve and muscle connections anyway.
