More like close enough for someone with a strong mothering instinct, whom cares for Luna. There is family by blood and family by chose, and Aio obviously considers both Ace and Luna to be family regardless of blood or marriage.
Not just that. She’s a mother who had to maintain distance and deniability from her only son for very large chunks of his developing years. She’s jumping at the chance to mother somebody right this time.
Family by choice can be even closer than family by blood. Sometimes a lot closer.
