Getting ordained online is very simple. A group of my friends use this as a way to manage low costs weddings, with several of us ordained. Be sure to check the laws in your State to confirm that such an ordination is allowed to sign the certificate, if you want your marriage recognized by the Government.
Although if your state denies your ordination, they are effectively challenging your religion, which would not go over well on first amendment grounds. Then again, taking a case to the supreme court would probably run a few years, which might be a while for a pair of friends to wait to get married.
In TX your marriage can be officiated by anyone you think is qualified to officiate it. I did Klingon weddings until my priestess died from cancer back in 2014. Nobody else wanted to go through the ceremony on the bride’s side after she passed.
