I don’t recall her saying she was a ninja…

Ace:
Did you know that cashews are poisonous in their raw form?
Oh! Never mind.
The perfect name a ninja squirrel.
Did you know that cashews are poisonous in their raw form?

Kashū = cashew? OK now I see it.
I’m not a complete idiot, sometimes you only need to bash me on the head a couple of times for me to get it.
A couple? You must be a gee-knee-us. It usually takes a couple worn out lead pipes for me to get a clue…and I’m starting to worry it’s giving me lead poisoning.
@[Keith]:
Are you tasting sweetness?
Because that’s one of the signs of lead poisoning.
[Lead Oxide]’s sweetness is thought to be the reason behind children eating paint-chips in old buildings.
( … before the lead was omitted from paint-formulas … )
— In Medieval times, it imparted sweetness to the foods served in lead bowls, & the alcohol drunk from lead (& pewter) beer-steins.
— Tomatoes were widely thought to be poison, when instead it was their highly-acidic ability to “leach” lead from their serving-dishes.
— When bodies_&_equipment from one of the failed Northern Polar Expeditions were finally recovered, we discovered that their supplies of canned food had been sealed with lead-based solder, which had slowly poisoned the crew-members into fuzzy-headed dementia, as tragically documented in their final journal-entries.
As for me?
I much prefer a good, solid, wooden “Clue_By_Four”(tm)(pat.pending)
…now, if only I could get past these dad-dratted corn-cushions…
I thought Kashu was Japanese for the sound of a sneeze. Ka-choo
Hence the script title…
And this strip title:

@[Ie Yamof Ool]:
The spelling used here may be “Anglicized” Japanese, & the word itself may be derived from the Portuguese, but I was a bit surprised to learn that the origins of the plant itself are Brazilian:

@[AndyOH!]:
Well, she’s the “pet/familiar” of a lady-ninja, so OF_COURSE that makes her a ninja-squirrel!
😛
Ace is a sharp cookie, she doesn’t need to say it – he figured it out SOME time ago 😉
@[oz1dke]:
To be fair, Ace himself has admitted that he’s only sharp about things that catch his interest. He can be pretty clueless if something manages to stay “under the radar” of his attention. Still, he’s obviously a HUGE fan of Batman’s core philosophy: “Preparation Overcomes All Obstacles”. Once he’s aware of a topic, his research is impressively thorough, without “cutting corners”, & has earned him both the Respect & the Envy of the “Government Data-Processing Community”.
Ex:
While researching the commune where Maddie’s mom lives, he missed noticing Maggie, because she was listed under her mom’s maiden name – “Rush”. His initial interest in Maddie’s mom extended no further than its influence upon Maddie herself. No doubt this inclusion of Maggie into his “extended family” will prompt him to learn all he can about her background, including who ‘sired’ her, & what he (“Maggie’s dad”) might still be able to do, to affect her life.
Ace isn’t saying that Kashu is a ninja’s squirrel (ie implying that Akane is a ninja), just that Kashu is a ninja-squirrel (betting her ship suit has a setting for the classic Hollywood ninja pyjama’s, squirrel sized 😀 )
Did any one notice if Kashuu had any kind of a collar visible? I recall the “pets” were fitted with shipsuit collars, but I didn’t see anything in the vote incentive.
@[Opus the Poet]:
Nope, there’s no sign of it in any of the pages BEFORE that either — not even a tell-tale ruffling of the fur…
…& no word from the Esteemed_Author.
Surely hiding a thing like that is trivial for a ninja squirrel.
Finally caught up after doing a month-long archive dive. Past a certain point, the triangles directly under the picture started skipping months and even years. The “Prev”and “Next” buttons on the line below that mostly worked, but a few times I had to call up the Archive and jump directly to the posts I wanted to see (like, when Luna first shows up.)
Speaking of which, there hasn’t been a new post in nearly a fortnight, so I am getting extremely familiar with the shape of Luna’s backside… I like it.
What about Mama Gibbs’ backside?
@[Guesticules]:
What about it?
Nothing’s WRONG with it, there’s just so little of it to SEE here.
Maybe if Akane would stop blocking our view … ?
So … I suppose that if someone wants to step forward & ask her to move, then by all means be my guest.
As for me, I prefer my body in its current (un-damaged) state, & see no reason to risk suffering (literally!!!) any change in that status, ThankYouSoVeryMuch!

Heh Heh. Good. point. Even the (few) people in this picture who could not personally beat me senseless have family and friends who could and would cheerfully do so, many of whom are standing within about a metre of them…
