Rusty, hey!

Miss Rusty, this is a public space. You do not need anyone’s permission to be here. I know there are still some people that aren’t comfortable around self-aware golems, but there are plenty of people that find a giantess like me shocking. And I say screw ‘em.
Rusty
Chief Walton, those that disapprove of my presence or existence make up a small and steadily declining portion of the population. I do not concern myself with them. However, a good, hard “screwing,” consentual of course, could help in some cases. I will keep that in mind.
Walton
No! I meant… That is...
Rusty
I speak in jest. The context of your statement is fully understood. Factually, intimate sexual contact could be used to influence attitudes. But that remains something I only do with close friends. Either way, I am not requesting permission to enter, but if I may be included in the social interaction taking place.
Walton
OK, You got me. I think it’s safe to say you’re among friends.

Still a great comic after all these years.
‘s why I keep re-reading it.
The early 3D-CG are kinda rough in the early parts, but Andy’s sense of humor is razor sharp enough to carry you through until it’s a lot easier to look at. ^_^
She better hope there’s a dry space cause we don’t want her to get rusty.

Is Rusty wearing ranking colors? Or is she just doing color coordination with her hair?
As near as I can tell ALL Orions with rank color coordinate their hair. And looking about the room (in the last few comics, I mean), they all wear their ranks when they is nekkid as jaybirds, too. That would be where their shipsuits stow at, at a guess.
My guess: Yes to both.
Rusty is an officer, if I’m remembering correctly.
Rusty’s “skin” for lack of a better term, is made from the same material as shipsuits, and she can alter it’s colouring to emulate a uniform suited to her rank and station as needed. The only difference is she can’t “stow” or retract it… because again, it’s her “skin”. There’s just her inner workings underneath it. She could, however, shift the whole thing to “Orion Green skintone” to give the impression of nakedness if she chose (although arguably, she’s ALWAYS naked).
EDI: “It was a joke.”
I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite AI in the Citadel.
True sign of intelligence (or maybe sentience): the ability to tell a joke (quality of said joke not assured 😛 )
Ever See a movie called “Short Circuit”? (Hopefully my memory of the name is correct) A robot had been struck by lightening and gained sapience. The guy examining him didn’t believe it until the robot laughed at a joke.
Yup, “Number Five is Alive!”
