They had me worried for a minute.

Grampy
AHA HA HA HAH! I might have known! What with your nature and that Gibs nose.
Earl
Pardon?
Grampy
Given what you’ve said, Ace is your cousin. What a small world! I run into the long-lost-cousin of the young man that had just become one of my granddaughter’s good friends.
Rosa
We definitely need to get everyone over for dinner.
Grampy
I’ll warn Henry we need 9 more plates. And give him a hand.
Anya
9?!
Grampy
They live in quite the madhouse. You’d love it. Unless the fact that my granddaughter is a lesbian and her future husband is a gay transvestite bothers you.
Earl
If she’s…? And he’s…? Why would…?
You know, not my problem.
Anya
Yeah. I never got to meet him, but Earl’s pop, a preacher, was known for saying, “Passing judgement is God’s job, and I got enough to do as it is.”

If I could add in anything opinion wise, I’d recommend grampy reneging on the idea of having everyone over tonight, and let that be tomorrow instead. Those two folks and their kids need a day to settle in first, and hear the news that they will be staying and parents have jobs and all that. Poor kids would be a bit overloaded on their first two hours in the house, suddenly getting to know eleven new people, no, twelve with Henry, in one day!
Why do I suppose Cousin Ace, Cousin Gabe, Aunt Gina and “cousin” Luna plus bodyguards and nurse-girlfriends will have to attend dinner via Skype or the equivalent, over a dead satellite connection?
Or maybe the Orions can maneuver a relay pod onto the Cartman Estate.
Because, you know, things aren’t complicated enough, right?
So the disappearances from the Old House are not widely known?
Nine more?
Living in the big house:
1. Ace – currently offworld
2. Luna – currently offworld
3. Kimi – currently offworld
4. Akane – currently offworld
5. Carly – currently at hospital
6. Aoi – currently at hospital (he knows she’s sick and can’t attend)
7. Barbi – currently at hospital (he knows she wouldn’t leave Aoi’s side)
8. Rocky – same?
9. Jaz – currently offworld
Live elsewhere:
10 & 11 – Maddie & Maggie – they’re Rosa’s family so they might already be on their way
12 & 13 – Gabe & Grace Gibs – they’re Earl’s family so he HAS to introduce them
Aoi, Barbi, Carly, and Rocky have left the hospital by this time. I don’t know if he knows or not.
Plus Gabe is off-world and just joined the US Air Force under special detachment.
I believe this is happening the night everything went down with Ace & Co.
It occurs to me that Earl’s skill-set might be a good ‘fit’ for working at “Bob’s Bikes”, alongside Rocky, Bob “Dawg” Hanson, & his wife, “KC”, who were last heard of here:

[al mar]:
Let’s not forget, there’s also …
14 & 15 & 16 – Gary Gibs, his wife Charity, & his sister Gina.
Currently, they’re Earl’s closest living relatives, since it sounds as though both of Earl’s parents have passed-on.
Now, of these 16 people …
4 (Aoi, Barbi, Carly, Rocky) are most likely going to stay in-or-near the hospital.
That leaves 12 … I wonder which 3 people Grampy overlooked?
We know that 7 are off-world (Ace, Luna, Kimi, Akane, Jaz, Gabe, & Gina), but I assume Grampy doesn’t know this yet.
I’d say that his 1st clue will be when he sends this dinner-invitation.
Earl’s Pop was a PREACHER? But but…
Not Grampy I assume, cos “Pop” is apparently dead. But then who? Did Grampy spend more time down South than we know about?
These are good genes, mind you. The guys are all better-looking than – well, you know, I wouldn’t kick them out of bed. Not to mention that they are basically a Royal Family.
Earl’s dad wouldn’t be related to the Gibs clan. His mother was sister to Gary, but as recently exposited, fell into a bad drug problem and became estranged from the family (and apparently ended up in Texas somehow). She met the preacher who straightened her out, they married and had Earl, but she was too ashamed of her past behavior as a junkie to reconnect with the Gibs family.
ok why do i feel like all hell is about to break loose. think about it. thoes 2 finding out that so many of the family is not disapeared. what grandpa can do is scarry. what grandma can do…….i just craped my pants. lol
Opus the Poet:- For all we know, this could be happening concurrently with what we have already seen
“You know what, not my problem.”
If only more people would use these words of wisdom instead of shoving their noses in where they don’t belong, the world would be a much happier place.
Agreed. All we know is that “Reliable” probably took place after “Grey Side”. But how long after?
This was supposed to be a reply to Guesticus replying to Opus the Poet. ^_^
Grampy is Rocky’s grandfather and unrelated to anyone in the Gibbs/Lawton clan.
this is still the same day, only a few hours as a matter of fact.
ok the reply system doesn’t work properly, good to know
Yup, the reply-nesting has been ‘bjorked’ for about as long as the site font has been changed
Will have to return to the days of adding the name of the person you are replying to in the post 😀
Well considering his last name is Hayes, I’d bet the Gibs familial connection is from the mothers side of his family.
