An old house, a geek, a cute transvestite, a very tall lesbian, and at least one ghost–what could happen? – Adult situations and artistic nudity. Not suitable for children.
Japanese in general are pretty modest… but it would be strange indeed for someone to get an amazing full-body tattoo (at considerable expense, time, and discomfort) and never want to let anyone see it! That would be like buying a sports car for the price of a small house, and never taking it out of the garage.
Japanese may be modest but nudity does not mean the same thing to them as it does to those in the USA, especially not among family members. Bathing as a family, even mixed genders, is not unheard of.
Some of that is exaggerated, even mis-represented in foreign guides about Japanese life.
Mixed bathing, and modern Japanese people comfortable with mixed bathing, is not very common anymore, and “family bath time” tends to fall away once the children are old enough to bath themselves (5 year old girl bathing with daddy? Normal. 15 year old girl bathing with daddy… pretty creepy, even in Japan.)
That being said though, there IS a bit stronger an attitude in Japan that nudity is not always a sexual thing, especially in places or situations where it is normal to be naked.
Anime frequently shows scenes of characters taking a bath alone, and (a little bit of fanservice in some cases aside) the main theatrical purpose is more symbolic. The character has shed all uniforms, masks, and roles of the outside world, and is now her most innocent, private, unguarded self. Usually this is a time for the character to monologue some of her inner thoughts, maybe come to a revelation as she thinks over problems that have been troubling her, make a decision about her life direction, etc.

(Whoops! Forgot to finish my thoughts…)
