Someone is still a bit peeved.
It would probably be considered a ret-con now, since X is saying on this page that “it wasn’t enough to throw off her results”, but later on we are told that the Grey dude messing with her experiment is what kept her from graduating their academy early.
Right.
Her “corrupted” results weren’t misleading-enough to pass for accurate (which would’ve been FAR more damaging), but figuring-out the nature of the data-corruption, & then correcting the data involved a significant delay in publishing.
Double checking all your data and worse convincing your supervising instructors that you got it right this time could easily delay the timing of your graduation.
