Today is April 4, 2022. What’s going on? When will we see new comics or is this the end of it?
Andy may have had another stroke, they don’t know or it could be an adverse reaction to his meds that they can’t tell from another stroke. We are hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.
There is a very good chance Andy will never be able to make even a script to use to collaborate from. This may be the last page of this comic, but we are hoping they will find out his problem was the wrong meds and change them so Andy can continue to create comics and stories.
Opus, if you are in direct communication with Andy or his family could you report on here about his progress? And in the other direction that we are concerned about him.

Not in any kind of communication except having common FB friends with his sister, and knowledge of stroke symptoms from Mom having a stroke.

Sorry!!!!! This is Andy’s sister, He made me Admin and we have had a busy few months. He is Alive and better, but still one finger tap per ten second speed typing. He has only one eye, now, and it has cataracts. His speech had become unworkable for speech to text, but that is also improving. He has had past strokes but the recent trouble turned out to be a combination of heart and blood pressure and oxygen and probably some brain dysfunction and all probably due to mismedication! He has had some cognitive damage that my mother and I were complaining of and we could not get any scans for him until this event where they confirmed he had damage between the last recorded stroke and now but no one knew exactly when. Now, on regular oxygen, he is thinking much more clearly and we are waiting for his discharge. He got hit with some pretty big bills, as I am sure you can imagine.
I brainstormed with him on how to continue his comic. I am going to be honest, I don’t really get most of the jokes. What he has approved is if anyone wants to do a legacy comic, with fan fiction, perhaps a group can get together and use his templates and send some work in for approval, and he can add his two cents. I think this could be a fun project for some die-hards who may already have some great ideas of how to move the comic forward. We also have to consider how to make sure the comic continues to be available after Andy passes. He has a great storage drive but I have to learn how to use it and share the comic.
He is at the vague stage of terminal diagnosis and the concern of it being possibly immediate has lightened up, a bit. I am moving my mother and Andy to Arizona which we hope will improve his health and inspire activity. He rarely gets on Facebook. Since I am not sure if this reply will reach everyone, I am going to do a copy paste and try to get it as announcement but this whole web page is greek, to me and I am slow to figure it out, so, please bear with me.

So latest I’ve found is a few mentions by his mom March 16 on her Facebook that he’s in rehab and doing better.
I’m so pleased with how Andy is doing. We did a PT walk down the hall at the rehab place and he covered two halves of the large rectangle that passes through the center before he quit. I wheeled him back to his room. Jeannie and I think the big difference happened after they did a sharp decrease in the medicine used for pain, which happens to not play nice with his blood thinner. He’s no longer feeling so weak and washed out. He could be home sooner than we expected.

Andy is now terminal, we have not been able to visit but will very soon, maybe tomorrow. He is not at the hospice level yet but we were told to start planning. I am trying to figure out how to notify people, and will arrange a zoom with him, or something, soon.
I am intending on a memorial that will give fans and friends enough time to participate or perhaps a zoom style one.
I’m going to be optimistic and go with the latest post which was the March 16 and hope it means he is doing better with the understanding that long term may still mean no updates or much communication with Andy. I wish him and his family all the best.

Yeah, was wondering about that, but not too sure: going by the placement of the feet, they all seem to be in one line and Jaz is too close to be looking at Akane from that angle, and Luna seems to be looking behind them

I will not lie, I may have forgotten some story beats. It has been a long time since I last binged on the comic from the beginning.

I think it’s a little closer to realizing just how (not) far this particular apple fell from the tree.
The moment a parent feels that burst of karma as your offspring have to deal with their child arguing with them in exactly the way your child did with you. And knowing they aren’t going to have any better luck than you did back when your child was that age.
Seeing Jaz’s smile has suddenly reminded me about her dream about Ace’s daughter so long ago.
Would this “sudden burst of noise” be the gossip train behind them?

OK, this is fun but it’s time to move this story along. And I’m wondering if Stormy is going to maintain her exercise routine when she starts living in 1G Earth gravity? Because that girl has never missed a leg day and it shows.
I have a question for Andy, do you have any pictures of an Orion heavy cargo shuttle? I’m writing a fanfic of delivering Shiner Ruby Red and Shiner Bock to the Orions in our solar system and need something to put a visual to it. I’m driving the local ATC crazy in the story by going directly to orbit from the brewery then to interplanetary or Oort cloud destinations filing VFR flight plans.
Anyone heard from Andy lately? Last post is over 2 months old now. I worry about his health.
As do we all; I’ve been wondering how he’s holding up too.

well, it is new year, and still nothing from andy since this comic was posted. no news that i can find but hope andy doing well,
so many story threads still hanging loose, and i think a few have been forgotten. also keep waiting to hear how rocky doing in her pregnancy.also was waiting to see what happens with grampy’s and rosa’s guests, and find out if he was related to ace and how.

i’ve waited on long hiatuses in past cuz i enjoyed the comic so much, and don’t mind waiting again, just want to know it comic is dead or not, and hope andy ok even if he not going to continue it.

Last time he was out for a long time his mother updated us on his status for him. It concerns me there has been no form of communication for almost 8 months. Did he not also play second life? I believe he mentioned it several times in his comments and even his in game name.

I’m really concerned, this is the second-longest hiatus in the comic history, after the one for the stroke, only no updates from Andy’s mother.
I know Opus, hope nothing has happened to either of them.
I am also worried about Andy. Last known activity I am aware of was him adding items to his Amazon wishlist on December 29 2021. That still leaves a long time of no communications with the comunity no matter who may be recieving individual communication.
That is. Disconcerting to say the least.

I went and did a quick glance at the Facebook page and it looks like he’s been in the hospital since January of this year with congestive heart failure and other medical issues. I didn’t read through it all to see how far back he has been sick since the page stopped updating in June of 2021, but I think that is the current situation. Wish him and his family well.

Andy’s home from the cataract surgery and doing very well. He’s really stoked that he can see again. Already!
From what I gathered from his mom’s and sister’s comments:
Dehydration due to kidney/heart meds complications led to blackout and hitting his head around mid-February, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the meds had been making him unable to wrok well. Hospitalized and bedridden. And not seeing much. That last is probably why he hadn’t been posting much.

As soon as I figure out my admin privileges, I will post updates. Andy will not likely be adding to the comic unless he finds a collaborator. It is also unlikely he will leave the hospital/medical setting, again. I don’t know what is on his wish list, but my mother hopes to move in the near future and take him with us to the same state, at least, so please keep in mind that more stuff is probably not helpful. It sounds definitely not good. On top of his poor health it looks as if his comic may die. Is there someone with the talent (not me) to collaborate with him to carry on with it? Not only would his faithful readers be happy with this, I imagine
he would benefit from seeing it ongoing.
In case it was unclear. I said “not me” because I lack the talent.
Well to me this pretty much signifies the death of this comic. I wish Andy and this family the best and have enjoyed the story he told up to this point.
I can’t remember a day in years I haven’t come to this site. I’ve enjoyed watching his skills, both storytelling and graphic, evolve. Is there any funding site set up for his benefit?

This information is very helpful but also saddens me deeply, even if the comic dies, I still wish him well and pray that he recovers as much as possible, for him and his family
April 22nd news (from his mom on FB): Andy is doing very well. We had to run errands today and he had no problems getting around, but used his walker for security.
I am hoping Andy is ok and doing well. Being that back in the day we were both USAF Security Police makes us brothers. So Andy be well.
I just checked his mother’s FB and he’s doing much better and they may be moving to AZ this fall.

We’ve been staring at “Stomy” for 8 months.
Andy’s mom has been overrun with friend requests and messages and is no longer taking either. And since I didn’t get my friend request in in time I can’t communicate with her any more.
I still can’t believe TMI is still in the top 100 out of about 4000 comics listed on Top Web Comics after all this hiatus. That is a dedicated fanbase.
