You know, to date, I don’t think we’re 100% sure the two marines part is real, or just something Rosa made up to shut the mouth of a bar jackass whose initial reaction to a “gimpy stripper” needed a 180.

1)__An extremely high IQ,
2)__A very inquisitive mind,
3)__Access to data channels that we don’t, &
4)__Little-or-no ‘filter’ to restrain her thoughts.

Given that Stormy’s source of information is unlikely to be direct from Rosa, it means that she got it from an alternate source. If Rosa had invented the story to shut up the obnoxious comments, there would be no likely source that would pass the information on to Ororo. Ergo, the story has veracity.
I’m having fun trotting out the $5 vocabulary for this one, rather than the usual $1.50. :-p
It is not uncommon to suffer some retrograde amnesia around an event traumatic enough to do the kind of damage Jax received in Iraq. Given her personality and that she was there as a nurse I have little doubt that Rosa has the story 100% accurate. Besides, Rosa may withhold or color information but we’ve never seen her outright lie.
When my bike was hit by a speeding car, I lost several minutes. To this day I’m unsure if my memory of being hit is true or a retro-memory of what I think MUST have happened.
Another reader hit by(with?) a car on a bike! Mine was a drunk in a pickup truck that the guy analyzing the wreck said was going between 45 and 65 MPH with greatest confidence at 60 MPH. I was riding a full suspension mountain bike converted to a commuter with slick tires for lower rolling resistance. What were you riding? My memories stopped when I heard the drunk swearing at me for riding in the street and don’t start back until I told the EMTs I had a broken leg and please be more gentle handling me. They had the body bag out and were scraping me off the street when I came to.
