"Ace! Buddy!" Larry declared, surprising Ace at his desk.
"Larry, why does that greeting scare me?" Ace scowled. Larry had seated himself on Ace's desk and had The Major in hand again.
"Heh. I hear you're looking for an apartment. How about we split rent on a place downtown?" Larry asked innocently.
"Aren't you married, Larry?" Ace asked.
Larry leaned forward and said slyly, "I won't be your roommate. But if anybody asks, I'm just visiting my good buddy, Ace!"
Ace recoiled, "Uh, sorry, I think Carly and Rocky are counting on me moving in already."
"Suit yourself," Larry said, walking out. "I just didn't think you were the type of guy to move in with a couple of homos."

Ace: “The offer to be an accomplice/enabler to you cheating on your wife is tempting… but I think I’ll pass all the same.”
Hm…..first evidence? I’m avoiding spoilers for anyone reading through the first time. Going through fast enough to remember this should be explanation enough of what I mean.
If so, it’s a masterful deflection! We’re too busy focusing on Larry’s shady intentions to pay much attention to the more basic fact that he was offering to basically get Ace his own apartment for which he’d only pay half-rent.
It’s actually quite an offer.
