No Space For Half Measures

MedChief Carver certainly seems to have mastered Peachy’s “caught in the headlights” look.

So, until I can confirm these nanos really exist, and more about them, we can’t confront Ace about it. We can’t be sure that these super sophisticated stealthy nanomachines don’t have a self-destruct trigger. And that they won’t take the host with them, and everything around them.
The good news is that I can say for certain that there are no signs of mystery medical nanos in your or Kimi-chan’s systems. I’ll call the others in to get some new scans and take a tissue sample to see what happens.
Jaz
And we don’t know how they got into his system. About the only vector I can think of is that vile electrolyte drink mix he gets in the mail. I’ve tried it, but no more than a taste. But there’s something you still aren’t telling me.

If these nanos are dangerous, or more specifically can’t be proven safe, and can’t be neutralized, you’ll have to securely dispose of him. And this is the real reason we can’t leave yet.
You may have to kill him, won’t you?

I don’t think that most Orions process information at the sam in a tendency e speed as Luna and Jaz
Add in a tendency to not question authority and Carver would be out of her depth.

Apparently Doctor Carver flunked the Operational Security portion of her military-based training.
“Aha! Caught you! You let a tiny hint slip! That means you have to explain everything in exacting detail!” Normally only works on children… or the particularly stupid.
I think paranoia over the Dilmun’s “grey goo scenario” is colouring the Orion’s judgement in respect to these nanos. Here’s what we know about them so far:
-They are programed to preserve Ace’s life and speed healing of damage.
-They show no signs of transforming him into something else, such as with the vampiric nanos.
-They do not appear to be contagious, spreading to other people in close contact with Ace.
-They are significantly more sophisticated than the temporary nanos Orions use, which themselves are Dilmun-tech. It’s true Dilmuns had used more advanced nanos in the ancient past, but that turned into a literal end-of-world scenario, so one presumes all later Dilmun and Dilmun derived tech like the Orion’s use would send up screaming alarms if those same type of nanos were identified. Ergo we can probably assume these nanos are not of Ancient Dilmun design.
Clearly whomever put these into Ace wants him to both stay alive, and stay himself.
