Sex workers make more money per hour than almost any other profession, and have such high job satisfaction that they’re usually left OFF job satisfaction surveys, because the rest of us are not very comfortable that whores are living better than we are.
Yes, they make more money, but how much of that do they get to keep?
As a freelance escort (which is the vast majority) every penny (less what they pay in income tax, like all the rest of us. What exactly they put down as their job title may vary). As a member of an escort service (which are professionally run by more experienced sex worker women) about 75% (the other quarter being voluntarily paid for various services like client screening, appointment management, and help in the case they’re arrested. All pretty valuable and very worth the 25%.)
As a product being sold in the Nevada brothels run by utter sleezebags like Dennis Hof, officially their cut is 50%, but they’re additionally charged for rent, food, transportation and other costs associated with the brothel’s earnings, so in reality it’s much less.
A “legal” brothel is one of the worst places a woman can be a sex worker, which is why so many opt for the “illegal” business models, despite the higher risk of being assaulted and robbed by police.
