Two very good reasons.
Helmets like that one protect the brain, the full face ones also protect the jaw. Being alive and clear headed, but unable to eat sucks.
Not to mention protection against small objects thrown by car tires or off the back of a truck. And Junebugs. Hitting one of those at 15mph on my bicycle is bad enough.
I considered wearing a helmet, a good one, my contribution to the protection of intellectual property – even if I only ever rode a bicycle.
Not sure where you life, but it’s the law around here. Helmets are non-optional, even for bicycles.
I don’t need a law to protect my head – it’s kind of a no-brainer (pun intended). 😉
Worldwide, the places that have laws on bicycle helmet use are actually quite the minority. And those that are for all ages – not just for minors – are again the minority.
Ditto, I have been wearing a full-face bicycle helmet ever since I got killed. (long story)
