Ace
So you don’t have any-? What is a parent’s hanyo sibling called?
Veracity
Uhm…
Walton
OH HO! Ace just hit upon the Orion dirty little secret.
---
Ace
Dirty little secret?
Walton
Incidentally, they’re called “xaelin,” from Old Orion for “blessed.” Also, “hank” is coming into use. And a sib’s han child is referred to as a neebla. From the word “nibling,” a gender neutral word for a siblings children.
People often neglect to mention the hanyo or degendered members of their family. People with hanyo family members are more likely to have hanyo children. And boys pick up the idea that having han children brings their virility into question. The truth is that while people with hanyo family are more likely to parent han children, and fewer sons, but more of their daughters are fertile.
Ace
Is that the reason for Terran-Orion children?
---
Walton
We’re getting into Medic territory. But, that’s partly it. Terran-Orion hybrid women are usually fertile, with almost no hanyo, but males are particularly rare and usually infertile. And, unfortunately, the problems start coming back in the next generations.
Wildstar
My sister and I are the only three quarter Terrans in the Empire, so we don’t know how that’s going to play out. But there’s a young man I plan to look up the next time I have a station or habitat assignment.
So, sorry, Stud. I might sometime be up for some fun, but no babies.
Ace
My loss, I’m sure.

These info dumps are always fun – and I’m sure that if I reread it a couple of times I’ll understand it all.

Haven’t we all
Typo in panel six: “Degengered” instead of “Degendered”
Wait, Ace has always said he didn’t (knowingly) want kids if he couldn’t be part of their lives, last sentence implies that is no longer an issue? o_O
i believe it’s supposed to be sarcastic? maybe snarky…
Or just being polite to a naked woman you’re sharing a bath with.
Well, apart from the fact that he’s really just being polite since she doesn’t seem to know his stance on that, if I’m remembering correctly (and I may very well not be), that ship has already sailed anyways, hasn’t it?
He used the same phrase when Pixie said something similar about Ace not being in her list of possibilities.
Except, this time, believe he means it
I suspect he meant it with Pixie as well. She matured up fast when she realized there was no going back to her relationship with Rocky. Taking on the resposibilities of Manager of Sales very likely helped, but in my opinion she became more of a catch with some real self-confidence, and I like to think Ace was intellegent enough to see that.
@Guesticus
Well, the matter’s kind of been taken out of his hands by now. He’s adjusting.
Also, they’re all just talking here. Why get up on his high horse (which has about 100+ “broken legs” at this point) and say something that would likely offend his hosts for no reason?
I think that this site really needs dictionary/glossary added to it sometime. We’re starting to get enough strange words that it would help to be able to follow the dialogue at some point.
Someone started a wiki: http://tmi-comic.wikia.com/wiki/Too_Much_Information_Comic_Wiki
…And then stopped updating it. 😛
(We should all chip in on that. Shouldn’t we?)
