I would say “suffering” or “traumatized” more than “innocent”.
…and re: my earlier comment, I just wondered if less repetitive readers might wonder why she was bald even as a child.
Yeah, was trying to think of something other than ‘innocent’, but it still fits (was thinking of before what happened to her, the baby looks no more than two years old, possibly the last time she felt safe)
