I knew this was coming. I just knew. No, there was no plan against me. But I sure lost out, never-the-less.
This move has cost me I could spare. I am overdrawn. I am still behind on my medical bills. My computer never made it onto the shipping container (PODS). I am Iucky to have my bed.
And, what’s worse, my cat is still in Vancouver. (I hope to see him soon. He’s almost 20.)
I know how Gofundme or Kickstarter work, but you do feel that’s an option for me?
Sure. I’d like a way to throw in a bit of money to help you get back on your feet (and help to see more comic as well : )
I can’t help hugely, but I’ll contribute some. So is your cat and computer with someone, at least?
The computer can be replaced. Frankie Blue Eyes is the care of my little sister. He is equiped with an Air Tag and Samsung trackers. And, she will hopeful be down befrore the week is out. (Along with the PC.)
I’d suggest Gofundme. I have a few friends who have hit tough times of one situation or another, and it helped them handle it finacially. It feels more like when you’d pass the hat to help a friend. With a Kickstarter, I think more people would be wondering “What’s in it for me?”
I agree with ChemicalWoodchuck. Gofundme feels like a better fit.
Yeah Kick Starter people are going to want something.-If you have put together a PDF or Print version of say the first arc that is where I would go for that, if you aren’t planning on a product think about either a Ko-Fi tip jar or the GoFundMe page.
I’ll chip in as well.
You have provided too much entertainment over the years not to.
Though I am personally wondering if a Kickstarter for a printed version of the comic would be successful, I’ve known other webcomics where that worked (such as https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jenniebreeden/devils-panties-volume-13?ref=user_menu).
The problem with making it a print version is that the cost of layout/ printing will eat up most of the funds. A PDF version would cost mostly time, with zero shipping, only requiring an email of the final product/ download link.
If you were to go that way, you might want to divide it into chapter / arc books. That way you could have funding levels by chapter, volume, everything up to the last chapter. It’d also give you more options for people that wanted to buy them later, or could only afford them piecemeal. And making chapters would make it easier for future books to be added (and payed for).
I’ve thought for years that you should sell PDF collections and would pay for what I could afford.

Not so much. Amazon does this for free with its self-publishing facility.
Eric Hines
patreon could be an option with previews or an archive of uncensored vote incentives as tier rewards
I’ll chip in, you have provided too much entertainment over the years not too.
I’ve seen Kickstarter’s for printed copies of webcomics be successful in the past. I know I’d buy this comic in printed form.
I’d like to see you on Patreon (or one of the alternatives, i’m no t fussy) so we can give you a regular income 🙂
Kickstarter would be for a one off where you eg produce a printed copy of your comics
From personal experience If you do a GoFundMe make sure and if anyone helps you that you retain SOLE access to the money. I have a Friend who had a Brain injury who another “Friend” set up and ran a campaign to raise money for her med bills… and took all the money and ran.
Gofundme. I figure I owe you something for the entertainment through the years. Credit card in hand, waiting……
just let us know where to send the money.
Even a PayPal donation link would work for me…
Or Patreon(You’re not the only comic artist I sponsor that way)
Or GoFundMe… I’ve been known to donate there, too.
Glad to “see” you again, although I wish it were better circumstances in general.
I know that KS only collects from backers and pays out to the organizer if the goal is met, and I know there’s a rather significant delay between close and payout. I have no experience with GFM or Patreon.
I would personally be most likely to do a Paypal friends and family than any of the above, though.
Do a kickstarter. Have a $5 ‘I want to be a part of this’ and make up some rewards? It can work. I’d like a PDF of TMI? One day? Willing to wait. You could offer Cameos as a tier.
$5 – I just want to be a part of this – Badge in the site chat
$10 – TMI-Comic supporter – Gets a mention in the thank you page on the site
$20 – EStory Time – PDF version of chapters 1,2,3 ?
$50 – Scene up – Still scene of your choice with existing characters – Ace and Luna as detectives?
$200 – Cameo – The above rewards, and your likeness will be modeled into a minor character in a future comic
$500 – Story time – A short story or side story about the the characters or situation of your choice. Can be delivered as comic or text
$1000 – Fanboi – ??
$1500 – Eternal Ascended Fan – ???
Kickstarter is more for publishing finished works, rather than funding ongoing works (patreon works best for that)
Would totally help with a Kickstarter (which is typically a single one-off payment) but can’t do Patreon (follow too many webics to just pick a couple for that 🙁 )
Like most everyone else is saying, GoFundMe is probably your best bet (I’d chip in).
It is great to see you back online! And you are “sounding” a lot better. I’ve enjoyed TMI for years and would be glad to contribute. The most important thing is for you to continue to get better. If you get to the point where you can share more of the comics with us, I would like to continue the journey with you. JustGeoff’s suggestion makes sense.
