Doctor does as needed for the patient.
First time through I found this extremely relatable as my doctor told me how many tools I ruined from installing and removing the hardware holding my hip together after the wreck. Installing not so much as removing. Air chisels were brought in for the removal, and a BIG slide hammer. After the removal they found calcite crystals in the hardware in my leg.
