Cowboys work for a living.
It was settlers that stole all the land.
…and the army that drove Natives out of their own villages… or butchered them.
There are some who call it the American Holocaust.
And I learned a few years ago, at least 30% of cowboys in 19th century were actually PoC or other non-“full Caucasians”. Including Indians and metis.
Contrary to the usual movie depictions.
So Aoi’s choice of word is not fully wrong.
That being said, since cowboys were in the employ of ranchers raising big cattle herds, one could put them in the bag of “land thieves”.
