I’ve been considering a system upgrade, more or less idley, and plugging components to my Amazon Wish List.
Lo and behold, this beautiful (and somewhat spendy) mainboard appeared on the doorstep. A grand start, indeed.
So, a big THANK YOU, to Justin!
(Much cheering ensues.)
WOO HOO!!!
This will let you render a better 3-D picture … faster? Since it is a newer model of what you have?
COOL!
I look forward to seeing what you have planned for All in the TMI World. Good Luck!
And there was much rejoicing. (hurrah)
Gotta love MPatHG.
Well, thank you to Justin from ALL of us who enjoy this webcomic then! 😀
Oooh.. pwetty….
So now all you need is a new graphics card, new RAM, new hard drive, might as well get a new case while you’re at it…
The mainboard has integrated graphics, I have an extra case, and I’m reusing the drives. ^_^
Integrated graphics bad. Discreet video card good. If you can possibly swing cost of a stand-alone card, do it.
Find out if the 3D rendering software you use takes advantage of the graphics card. If so, then you can occasionally get a decent new one for US$70. Even better, check kijiji for some gamer selling off his old video card after getting the latest and greatest.
If your rendering software does not take advantage of your graphics card, you don’t play video games, you’re not trying to mine for bitcoin money, then the motherboard video card may more than good enough for everything you do.
Sorry Oberon. I tried to resist the urge, but: Discreet=subtle. Discrete=independent/separate.
I have a spare graphics card… It’s mid grade market but it beats integrated by a mile. I live near Portland Oregon, shopping shouldn’t be a problem. Direct message me on Facebook if you are interested. Here’s my profile page : https://www.facebook.com/orion.johnson.10
